About Us

Bennochy Medical Centre is a 7 GP partnership* and training practice, contracted to NHS Fife to provide General Medical Services to patients on the Practice list.

What being a Training Practice means

Post Graduate Training in General Practice

The practice has been approved as a training practice. This means that fully qualified doctors who have been working in hospitals will be joining the practice for periods of 4-12 months in order to gain experience of general practice.

Bennochy Medical Centre is privileged to be involved in training qualified doctors to become General Practitioners. These doctors are known as 'Specialist Trainees' and have time within the Practice during their first (ST1) and third (ST3) years of General Practice Training.

We also have Foundation Year 2 (FY2) Doctors here for periods of 4 months.  They have spent 1 year working in a hospital and are fully registered with the General Medical Council.

Occasionally consultations with trainees might be recorded. The recording will only be used for teaching and training purposes.  Your consent will always be requested by the receptionist when booking your appointment and before your consultation is recorded. You will need to sign the consent form again afterwards to say that you are still happy. You can also withdraw your consent at any time following this, either verbally or in writing. The recording will focus on the communication between the doctor and patient and will not record examinations where your body clothing needs to be removed.

If you would rather that your consultation is not recorded, please tell the receptionist. This is entirely your choice and will not affect your health care in any way.

Medical Students

As part of their training, medical students may be attached to the practice for short periods.  They will only see patients whilst under the supervision of one of the doctors with the patient’s agreement.
